Micah's Preschool Grad

Micah really enjoyed preschool this year.  I was a little worried - last year he did not love Joy School so when September rolled around I just kept him home with me.  But by January I wanted him to start having more of a "school" experience and to my surprise he was fine with it.  He never complained about going and was always eager to share what he did.

Mother's Day 2016

Our family!  I am grateful for these 4 munchkins that have made me a mom and bring me so much joy.  I am also extremely grateful for a supportive husband, because I couldn't do this without him!:

I got to spend Mother's day with my mom!  She is a great example to me of what a mom should/can be:

Conner's Birthday and Baptism

Conner chose to be baptized when he turned 8!  We are so proud of him and the young man that he is becoming!

We have a cut up cake book and Conner really wanted the house cake from the book.  I tried to discourage that idea because it looked difficult but Conner was set on what he wanted.  So I attempted it.  I doubled it so that there would be enough for everyone.  I didn't turn out great...when I asked Conner what he thought it looked like he said "a semi truck".  It kind of fell apart but it tasted good:

After the baptism we went to a park and had pizza and cake and ice cream with family and friends.  Make a wish Conner!:

Random March April and May

Here are some random pictures from March:

Brooklyn was playing with a stress ball and it broke.  Apparently it was full of flour, because I found flour everywhere:

Alan qualified for an elementary school track meet thing.  Elementary schools from around town sent their 4th, 5th and 6th graders to compete.  Alan did sit-ups.  It was pretty chaotic when we first got there:

Then they started some music and led the kids in some warm ups.  It looked pretty cool to see all those kids moving in unison:

Alan enjoyed the experience and he had fun cheering on his friends.

On St. Patrick's day we had green waffles with green whip cream for breakfast:

For April Fool's day I copied an idea from Shelly and packed a funny lunch for the kids.  First I opened all of the packages and took out everything.  Then I filled the water bottle up with sprite, I put pretzels in the granola bar wrapper, and popcorn in one of the chip bags.  I think I put grapes or apples in the other chip bag and I think I put fruit snacks in the raisin box.  Then I closed everything up and did my best to make it look normal.  I told the kids they had to try everything in their lunch that day.  They were puzzled but agreed.  I wish I could have watched them open their lunch!  When they came home they wanted to know what I did with the real chips and granola bar - haha!  It was a lot of fun:

Reed took a leadership class in our community and as part of it he got to go around and visit important parts of our city.  Here he is in the cockpit of a helicopter:

Brooklyn found our pack and play in her closet and wanted it set up.  To her it was the greatest toy ever.  She spent many hours playing in it:

She told Micah about her amazing find and he joined her.  They both loved playing in the "crib":
